Among EU Humanitarian Aid’s NGO funding recipients, the IRC is currently its second biggest implementing partner.

In the spotlight: in 2019 funding from DG ECHO has helped us to:

• Deliver life-saving treatment to 3,367 children suffering from severe and acute malnutrition in Yemen

• Give support to 5,164 survivors who had been affected by gender-based violence in Syria

• Provide 40,563 healthcare consultations to people living in Syria

In the spotlight: in 2019 funding from DG INTPA has helped us to:

• Give 13,038 school kits to children living in Ménaka in Mali so children can make the most out of their education

• Reach 133,624 people in Nigeria through community health volunteers, who provide vital information on how to keep families safe

• Deliver 205 babies at an IRC-supported clinic in Nigeria with trained experts, keeping more mothers and their newbornssafe

In the spotlight: in 2019, DG NEAR helped us to deploy mobile health teams in Misrata, Libya, where we were able to:

• Reach 682 people with reproductive health consultations

• Support 1,367 people with primary health care services

• Train 25 Libyan ministry of health staff to improve the way they deliver services

In the spotlight: in 2019, funding from DG JUST enabled the IRC in Greece to:

• Provide training to 43 community leaders to help them identify, support and refer survivors of gender-based violence to relevant services

• Provide training on child protection and caring for child survivors to 21 professionals -police officers, psychologists, social workers and medical staff

• Conduct exchange visits between Greece, France and Bulgaria to share best practices on supporting women affected by violence

In the spotlight: in 2019, funding for the EURITA programme has helped us to train 175 people from 14 different countries on how to provide best-in-class refugee integration services
