The International Rescue Committee has joined sixteen NGOs today in calling on the new Minister on Migration and Asylum to address the unprecedented, unacceptable situation, which is in violation of fundamental human values, national and international law.

The organisations that stand together today, are calling on the new Minister on Migration and Asylum, Notis Mitarakis, to decongest the islands, ensure dignified accommodation and access to healthcare for all asylum seekers, protect unaccompanied children, and foster integration by allowing access to jobs and education. Once refugees are enabled to rebuild their lives, they can be an asset to our country.
